Anderson Cooper is not a big fan of strip clubs.
In today’s episode of his daytime talk show, the openly gay host spoke of how he was dragged to a strip club in Tampa, Florida for a friend’s bachelor party.
‘I literally was like talking to the ladies about their shoes,’ he said. ‘I mean, I was so not into it. I was like I am not even going to fake this one.’

The CNN anchor and his co-host for the day, Lisa Rinna, were discussing how someone could have a missed connection in a location as seedy as a strip club.
‘Either you are sitting there and someone is grinding on you, or, what’s the missed connection?’ he muses.
He goes on to say that he doesn’t want to know about the majority of activities that go on inside of gentlemen’s clubs, and relayed his story of being forced to go into one.
‘I went to one once for a bachelor party when I was in college and I literally was like talking to the ladies about their shoes.’
Cooper, 45, also spoke with Rinna about terrible co-hosts on ‘Anderson Live.’
Ever the diplomat, Cooper said ‘I’m not going to name any names, but we’ve had some bad ones…when they’re bad, they are really bad.’
He says that a bad co-host ‘sit(s) there with this glazed look on their face like they are not sure why there are here, they are not sure how they got here,’ and adds that he then gets nervous and keeps talking ‘because I can’t rely on them to fill any of the silence.’
Since coming out, Cooper has been open with his sexuality, and has even joked about it. On a recent appearance with Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb, he said he was a ‘stuffing man’ and didn’t so much care for breasts.
He also refused a fist bump from late night show David Letterman, saying: ‘Dave, I’m gay. We don’t do this kind of thing.’
He is currently dating bar owner Ben Maisani.
